Attitudes
Description of attitude
Why do employers value this attitude
Hard working
Able to work without distractions
This is valued as the employer knows the person will complete all tasks set.
Independent
Needs very little help or advice and can work alone.
Allows employers to leave people to do their jobs without them needing constant support which also gives them free time as well.
Determined
Focuses on goal and wanting to finish a task set.
Gives employer confidence that the person won’t stop working on their task until completed to a good standard.
Tolerant
They are patient and can deal with tedious jobs and are accepting of different points of views and ideas.
Allows them to let the person do other tasks and can work with anyone regardless of their differences
Leadership
Able to motivate and inspire others at the same time.
Able to put person into leadership roles and trust that they will competently take control of the situation with an understanding that they will give 100% effort.
Dependable
Can be trusted with difficult tasks and be reliable to carry out the tasks successfully.
Allows them to give certain tasks knowing they will complete the task set.
Confident
Have the belief that they can succeed in any task or job they are given.
They have better chances of succeeding if they are confident.
Problem solving
Can work through hard/complex tasks
Allows the employer to assign complex tasks without them coming to the employer whenever they are unsure on small tasks.

As they can work for the future of the company as well as the present knowing their step by step processes.
Organisational skills
Able to manage teams of people and keep up to date with people on a regular basis.
Allows person to be placed in management/leadership positions without any doubts.
Time management
Working to deadlines making sure everything is done on time.
Means the persons projects/tasks will be completed on time and the day will flow on time.
Verbal skills
Calm and well-spoken formally.
Capable of negotiation and persuasion and able to get on with their co-workers in a positive manner.
Written skills
Good handwriting and wide vocabulary in formal texts.
Allows concise and detailed reports and the ability to produce different kinds of written communication whether that is hand written or typed.
Numeracy
Capable of the basic mathematical skills required.
Able to work with accounts and finances without doubts.
Creativity
Capable of finding unique ways to handle situations and being confident to pull up any ideas.
Able to come up with unique ideas and solutions no one else has already used.

Vital to a job in IT needs knowledge to be able to perform any task on a computer or behind the computer.
Good working procedures
Fast and efficient worker meeting deadlines.
Person is able to organise work effectively to aid other workers when in need.
Health and safety
Cautious and basic first aid trained.
Allows person to be put into potential health risks with less danger of injury. Also could be reliable for any other injuries.
Security
Able to protect files and keep passwords as safe as possible without leaving documents lying around.
Capable of entrusting important info without telling others.
Keeping up to date with technology
Trained in modern programs/computers
Capable of using any program necessary to complete a certain task
